Much of the joy of thrifting for me (and I'm sure for many others) is how you end up creating outfits out of these now-unique pieces that are a wonderful mix of old and new. There's something a bit poignant about the concept, I think. Nothing in this outfit has been thrifted, however there is a fairly sizable corner of my closet that is composed of various white and cream blouses that have added up over the years, and are rarely browsed through anymore, let alone worn. So when an embroidered sleeve of this top (one of my favorites) caught my eye, it was like discovering a whole ancient world of tops that could now be worn in totally fresh ways when mixed with some crucial-wardrobe-addition Christmas gifts, etc.

I hope everyone's weekend has been as enjoyable as ours has - Shane and the Pitt hockey team had a heartbreaking loss to Penn State, we had the pleasure of groovin' to our pal's awesome jockeying, a few bittersweet hangouts with a great friend who is moving out of state this week, and an abundance of smiles were exchanged throughout it all.

What wonderful things did you get into this weekend?
